So Are Skinny Women Really Evil?

Recently the photo on the right has surfaced on the internet and the big girls everywhere are going crazy. Why people have their panties all in a bunch as if Monique personally wronged them I have no clue. I mean yea she wrote a book called Skinny Women are Evil and yes a majority of her career and comedy acts were based on the fact that she was this confident, savy and bold big girl telling society to go to hell because she was not going to fit into their standards. Yet once again I stopped and had to ask myself and even my facebook and instagram family what is the big deal? Mo’nique is 45 and has a husband as well as three kids. I think she has done the big girl community well and put us on a platform that otherwise we may not have been able to see if ladies like her didn’t break the mold. On one hand I understand some people’s frustrations and feelings as if she turned her back because she was your motivation and the reason your self esteem rose up and blah, blah, blah. What I don’t understand is why aren’t people happy for her she didn’t go under the knife she changed her eating habits and exercised daily. Shoot if I was Mo’nique and had money for a personal trainer I would probably make the same moves especially if it meant a better and healthier life for me and sticking around to see my kids a little longer. Not to get deep or anything but this is why you need to realize you can only trust Jesus shoot you don’t know what you’ll do with yourself from day to day so why put so might faith in another human being. Next yes Monique did help build countless young ladies self- esteem and confidence rates yet not to sound cliché or anything but in the words of Katt Williams it’s called SELF-ESTEEM having esteem in one’s self. SELF being the key word I don’t care how much someone else lays the foundation if you don’t love you big or small you will always need a leader or person to build you up or to tell your perfect the way you are. Lastly I really wish folks would stop saying she looks sick no she doesn’t she looks like a big girl who lost weight. When you lose weight that’s what happens yes her collar-bone is more apparent and no she doesn’t have as many love handles on her side and back but you know what she does have that a million people in the world today wish they had? She has happiness, she has peace and good health. I don’t understand people the black community in particular we always say we want to eat healthier and that we don’t want diabetes , high cholesterol, and high blood pressure and a list of other hereditary diseases yet when a person in our community actually does something and happens to lose weight as a result of it we bash her. I often get the side eye when I say I favor Joe & Tahiry or when I say my heart tugs whenever I see Erica & Rich. I always hear people say why do you like Joe & Tahiry or ewww Erica and Rich WHY?…….Tahiry is stupid Joe is crazy Erica is a smut Rich is all about himself. *Stop record* Why is it that people feel the need to throw so much shade as if we actually live with these people on a day-to-day basis? What Angela’s Laws Taught Me

Concrete Loop's Founder Angela 's book on blogging

Recently I read Angel’s Laws Of Blogging by Angel Law the founder of one of todays most notorious blogs  Concrete Loop. I remember the first time I heard the phrase Concrete Loop it was in a song that Jermaine “JD” Dupri was featured on and I never remembered the song but I always remembered him saying “You tryna have my picture on Concrete Loop” I always though it was catchy but never knew what Concrete Loop was. Then in 2011 I actually had the honor of running into Angel in the restroom of the Altman Building during Kaboodle 5th Anniversary Event, even then I still didn’t know who she was or what she did but at that very moment  I knew she had to be a “somebody” or a big deal because she was walking in the show. I say all that to say this in reading her book the vibe I got in that bathroom is the same vibe she gives in the book. She knows who she is and that is enough she was not snobby or “bougie” she was actually very kind warm and welcoming. Angel’s book is one of the best books on blogging I have read to date. Not only does she tell you what was a hit for her but she also gives you an almost dummy proof  way to jump start your blog. I love that Angel did not live in New York and in the beginning stages of Concrete Loop she didn’t go to many if any events yet she was always in the know. Heck I live in New York and can barely keep up here she was in this little hole of a wall town and had the head up on all her competition and tapped into a market of people just like her who had the same wants and longings as she did. Another thing I loved about her stories is no matter how much people told her off or may have wanted things about her to change she remained true to herself except for one tiny dress incident that I will let you read the book to find out about. If you plan on being serious about blogging and making it a career or shoot even if you want a good following on your blog to lead to other career paths this is definitely a book you want to pick up guys!

I’m Such A Lush Head!

About 5 years ago me and my daughter were going through SOHO having a mommy and me day and we came across a store that I always tried to avoid because of the many smells it had going on which gave me a headache. Now fast forward and there is not a mommy & me day that doesn’t go by with us picking something up. I am a fan favorite of the fresh face mask be careful where you go, these bad boys are hot sellers many times in Roosevelt Field Mall’s Lush there is a waiting list just to buy them (I don’t run into this problem in the city often) I myself use Cupcake a cocoa & spearmint blend that leaves my skin so radiant and soft . What I love about lush is they an organic handmade products made by their team. Don’t believe me? Look on your products once you buy them not only that go online and see actual associates making products. My daughter loves FUN it’s clay, soap a bubble bar and coloring fun my daughter loves it and actually loves baths more because of it! Stop in your local Lush and become a Lushhead! I myself can’t wit to try the henna hair dye (which they will do in store for you for free if you buy the bar there an appointment is needed at most shops) a blog is sure to come following that!
