In a perfect world all young ladies who grew up in church would finish school at the top of their classes. Live with their parents until some strapping young man came and courted them eventually sweeping them out of their parent’s household because this same young man would propose to her. These young woman would be virgins with no “records” or “past dealings” and the men who would take their hands in marriage who have finished school ad have decent jobs they loved and be active in the church because as my pastor would say “A man not rooted in God has no covering. How can he cover you and he’s not covered?”. Well too bad this isn’t a perfect world and there is no such thing as a fairy tale in Christ. Continue reading
If these pews could talk is a christian contemporary story line loosely based on many experiences between me and many of my friends/sisters in Christ. Be sure you guys log on each week to read the updates. These four sisters in Christ are growing in Christ and walking as single women in ministry let’s see what would be said if these pews could talk! Lets’ meet Aniah Lea Imani & Nijah.
Aniah – The overprotected virgin and Pastor’s daughter of the crew. At 23 years old Aniah still has a curfew and can barely look at guys let alone be in the presence of one alone. With high expectations of her parents her church and the ministry Aniah is carrying a burden that feels as if it may break her………..
Lea – The one labeled the harlot out of the group being that she has had sex once and became pregnant at an early age, now deciding she wants to fully commit her life back to Christ and live right she is finding out everyone in church truly isn’t a “christian”. With the responsibilities of children, church work, school. a career all at 25 not to mention her vow of celibacy what will become of her on the journey?
Imani – Nijah’s twin sister has tasted the world and the church life tired of this life of living up to everyone else’s standards and way they believe she should live. Is seriously think of dropping every ministry but just can’t seem to just stop and work on herself.
Nijah – Freshly back from college and hiding a relationship with the grandson of one of the most known Bishops on the East Side. Continuously trying to keep it a secret and not wanting to settle down just yet. Nijah is struggling not to get caught up in the church court and date game but wants to follow her dreams and please her mother’s all at the same time.
Come on this journey as these four ladies thirst after Christ while dealing with the everyday issues that often get over looked and swept under the bench. Sanctified and trying to be content with God’s will for their lives these young ladies uplift and help keep each other somethings just can’t be told to any youth minister, Pastor of family member a lot just stays on these pews after between and during service my my my the things we would know…………………………..If These Pews Could Talk!
